CTSG HIRES E-PHILANTHROPY EXPERT TO EXPAND ONLINE FUNDRAISING PRACTICE

Washington, DC -- Amidst renewed attention to the fundraising potential of the Internet, political and Internet consulting firm Carol/Trevelyan Strategy Group (CTSG) has hired Mark J. Rovner to head up an expanded online fundraising unit. Rovner was most recently a Senior Vice President of Craver, Mathews, Smith & Co. (CMS) and since 1999 served as founding director of that firm's Internet division.

"Cause groups have come to recognize the integrated nature of Internet communications," noted CTSG managing partner Stuart Trevelyan. "With the creation of a dedicated fundraising division, we can offer our clients a deeper and more comprehensive package of tools and services."

Rovner cites the success of Moveon.org and the Dean campaign as recent online fundraising high-water marks.

"Internet fundraising is making the shift from black art to science," said Rovner. "The rules for success are beginning to emerge from past years of accumulated trial and error."

At CMS, Rovner guided fundraising strategy for numerous charities and advocacy groups, including Amnesty International USA, the American Civil Liberties Union, the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation, and Covenant House.

CTSG's new online fundraising division rounds out an impressive array of political and advocacy services, including political research, Web site development, Internet constituency-building and campaign design. CTSG clients and partners include Moveon.org, Amnesty International USA, Working Assets, SEIU, the Drug Policy Alliance, the Natural Resources Defense Council, and Rock the Vote.
