Lincoln Property Company announces fundraising events to benefit co-worker.

AUSTIN, TX April 9, 2004 -- Paws for ALS includes a 1.5 mile dog walk and parade to take place May 22nd in the Wells Branch area. Dog owners and human without dogs are invited to participate. The cost is $25 for a human dog team and includes a t-shirt for each human and a bandana for each dog. After the walk and parade their will be carnival activities and vendors showcasing their products. Local police will provide K9 demonstrations and Sublime Canines will showcase obedience and agility training. Micro-chipping and pet photography will also be available.

The 2004 Summer Music Festival will take place at La Zona Rosa on Sunday, June 13, 2004. Attendees will be in for a treat with an afternoon of music. Bands will be announced shortly. There will also be a raffle.

Scramble to Gamble invites participants to enjoy a worry-free trip to Hollywood Casino in Shreveport, LA on June 26, 2004. Attendees will take a charter bus to Shreveport, enjoying games, food and drinks on the way, then play at Hollywood Casino for 7 hours before returning to Austin.

ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. The brain becomes unable to initiate and control muscle movement, leading to total paralysis and eventually, death. Each day in America there are 15 new cases of ALS diagnosed. Ninety percent of those diagnosed with ALS die within three to five years, usually from respiratory complications. The cause is unknown and there is no cure. MDA, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, is one of the only organizations actively raising money to find a cure for this disease. A cure for ALS is not far off; incredible advancements have been made recently.
